Stocking Stitch

This is the basic knitting stitch made by one continuous thread. If the thread is broken a ladder will appear as the tension on the yarn pulls the two ends apart. This stitch gives a very flat appearance and is also known as flat weave. When nylon is knitted in this stitch the end result is a fine, sheer, lustrous finish.
